Local presence is required to register JP domain name. We offer the Registrant a Japanese Mailing Address at no extra charge to meet this requirement.
.JP (dot JP): Any individual, group, or organization can apply for this 2nd level, i.e., General-use JP Domain Name (e.g. EXAMPLE.JP) without any restrictions on the number of registration per registrant.
ASCII, kanji(漢字), pingji(平仮名), or katana(片仮名) characters can coexist in a generic JP domain name, and each character is treated as one, regardless of whether it is a single byte or a double byte. The length of the domain name, excluding the '.JP' suffix, is 1-15 characters in total for kanji(漢字), pingji(平仮名), or katana(片仮名), and 3-63 characters for the Roman JP domain name.
The number of all Domain Registrations is limited to one per registrant except General-use Domain Name, the .JP.
The General-use Domain Name, ".JP"(dot JP) Registrant can have an unlimited number of ".JP" registrations without being restricted by the number of registrations per registrant.
